About the project
Econolik is a free interactive economics platform for schools and universities: theory, practice, and a class/group where teachers see their students’ results.
Econolik covers 26 topics, and each one is short theory, market simulators with sliders and charts, quick quizzes that explain every mistake, a terms trainer and the business game “Cocktail”. You can learn without signing up: progress is saved right in your browser, and ranks and a profile show what you’ve already mastered. The interface comes in three languages — Russian, Kazakh and English.
We’re open to working with schools and teachers; on request the site can be extended with new topics and quizzes (including: taxes and deadweight loss, the Phillips curve, inequality and poverty, consumer choice theory, branding and digital promotion, design thinking, business taxes and costs, team building and pitching, scaling and entrepreneurs’ rights). Mission and principles
Econolik is meant to be a free platform for economics and financial literacy that makes quality knowledge equally available — no matter the school or region. The goal is to raise young people’s functional and financial literacy and to build a community of teachers across Kazakhstan and the CIS where they can share experience. The product is created together: the author, teachers and students.
- Equal access. The project erases the line between strong and remote schools: a teenager from a rural or small school gets the same materials, simulators and quizzes as a student at a large lyceum.
- “Peer to peer.” The content is made by a student who speaks her peers’ language and removes the barrier of “boring academic cramming.” At the same time the depth of topics is tuned to the needs of practising teachers.
- 100% free, no ads. There are no ads or paid features on the platform — it’s a contribution to a new generation’s knowledge, not a business.
- A “living” product. The site isn’t static: every review or edit from a teacher or student directly changes the interface, quizzes and how material is presented — the platform stays flexible and up to date.
Programs
Topics are gathered in one library with tracks by program: an introductory Principles-level course (for the first year of university) and the Kazakhstan school curriculum — economics, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. On the home page, the “University / School” filter shows the matching topics.
How points are earned
Students earn points for quizzes — these build up ranks and a profile. It’s simple to add up:
- +10 for each correct answer in a quiz.
- +25 for passing the quiz — if at least 60% are correct.
For example, a 4-question quiz with no mistakes: 40 (4 × 10) + 25 (for passing) = 65 points.
The teacher dashboard as an LMS module
Econolik works to democratize economic knowledge by engaging a broad audience — acting at once as a free educational platform and as a full learning management system (LMS). A teacher creates a class or study group in one click, and the system fully takes over progress tracking: from activity monitoring to deep analysis of weak topics. Key features of the dashboard:
- Passwordless access and group management. A class or group is created instantly. Students get unique personal codes (for example, AR-7K3). They sign in to the portal with the code — no complex registration, email or passwords. The teacher can hand out the codes as a ready list or print them for the class.
- End-to-end student progress (Student Analytics). The dashboard offers detailed individual analytics for each student: exactly which topics are done, the precise average quiz score and a last-activity marker. Summary performance statistics are formed automatically for the whole group.
- Predictive topic breakdown (data-driven). The system computes the class average for each topic and acts as a smart prompter: weak topics (below 60%) are highlighted automatically, and well-mastered ones (from 80%) are marked. The teacher sees problem areas at once and knows what to revisit in the lesson.
- Targeted assignments. A class or a specific group is assigned a particular set of topics and a convenient format (theory, a quick quiz, a terms trainer or an interactive game) with a deadline. Completion status is visible in real time — who has already submitted the work and who is still in progress.
A guest’s progress is stored in the device’s browser. The teacher sees only results completed while signed in with a personal code.

Privacy
We collect the minimum: for a teacher — name and email; for a student — name and learning results (scores, progress) linked to a personal code. Guest progress is stored only in the device’s browser. Data is kept in a secure cloud; a teacher sees only their own classes/groups. On request, data can be corrected or deleted: info@econolik.com.
